Applications for these components include satellite parts such as onboard fiber optics, antennas and inter-satellite links. This technology can also address the demand for increased use of Ka-band — a popular spectrum for satellite operators who want to provide internet from space.
3DGS glass ceramic components have been subjected to extensive space-standards testing including thermal, shock and vibration, the results of which indicate that the components are compatible with the rigors of space.
