Life MicroFab

Microfilters

Life MicroFab has developed several processes that enable the fabrication of through-glass vias (TGVs) in the APEX™ Glass Ceramic material. TGVs can be created that are different diameters on both sides of a substrate. We can fabricate a glass-ceramic microfilter that has several diameters on one side of the device and the corresponding TGV on the opposite side can be the same diameter or it can be designed to be larger or smaller. Glass-ceramic microfilters can be as thin as 150µm's.

Microfilter TGVs can be as small as 5µm's and as large as 500µm's and up. Microfilters can also include channels, wells and micropillars for additional functionality as a fluidic device. Currently, microfilters up to 150mm in diameter can be fabricated.
